Miley Cyrus To Star in Wings?!

"Disney has acquired screen rights to the young adult novel "Wings" and will develop the bestselling Aprilynne Pike title as a star vehicle for Miley Cyrus.

Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wick Godfrey will produce. Tish Cyrus will be executive producer. It's Temple Hill's first foray into supernatural fare since "Twilight."

Pic will be developed for Cyrus to play Laurel, a 15-year-old who grows up sheltered and home-schooled in a small town. Adjusting to a big high school is difficult, and her suspicion that she's not like the other kids becomes a reality when she sprouts a pair of wings and learns that she's a fairy. Published in May, the novel is the first of a planned four-book series." -straight from Miley Cyrus gets 'Wings' at Disney Article by MICHAEL FLEMING over at Variety.com

For the full article, click here.

Okay, that to me is a little weird. I have no clue why, when I haven't even read Wings yet. Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing Miley only act as herself and Hannah Montana in every single movie and show that she has ever been in. Will she be able to pull it off? I personally can't even imagine her acting in an actual movie (Other than The Hannah Montana Movie, where she did the same exact thing she does all the time on t.v.) Hm, what do you think? I will read the book soon and update my thoughts then.

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Manchtev

Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Pub. Date: July 2009
Pages: 368

Synopsis:

For all her life, Beatrice Shakespeare Smith—her friends call her Bertie—has lived in the Theatre, a magical and entrancing place filled with every character ever written in a play, who are all controlled by The Book. Bertie is content there, but her happiness is about to come to an end when the Theater Manager threatens to throw her out of the Theatre for being so destructive. She has only one chance to stay: she must make an invaluable contribution to the Theatre.

But kind of invaluable contribution can she, an ordinary girl, make to the majestic Theatre? More than she thinks. As Bertie begins to understand the extent of her writing powers, Ariel, a dazzlingly persuasive spirit from the play The Tempest, sets out to gain his freedom by wrecking the The Book and the Theatre. Bertie will have to set aside her self-doubts if she intends to save the Theatre and unravel the mystery of her past.

Review:

Holy cow, this book was outstanding. Bertie was such a fun, free character and I loved how she was always herself. Also, a few weeks ago I finally dyed the under part of my hair violet, which I've been wanting to do for SO long, and when I heard of all of the colors she'd dyed her hair, I was like "HEY! I want to do that to my hair!!" Then my mom and I proceeded to argue about why I want to and can ("Normal hair is uber boring and it's my hair!" That would be me.) and why I shouldn't and can't (My mother. "All of your hair will fall out and because I said so!") Guess who won? No one. BUT, because I was so stubborn (Like mother like daughter.) she agreed to allow me to cut my hair and dye it a little darker before school starts. YAY! :-D

Okay...back to the reason I'm typing in the first place...

*clears throat* I loved the faeries because they were so funny and kept me entertained throughout the entire novel, even when it was a serious scene. Possibly also because they remind me of my unbelievably annoying, but loving nephews. :D Nate was so sweet and protective and while Ophelia wasn't the most liked character, she was sweet and I knew she was somehow important to the book when I first began reading it and was proved correct. Now Ariel, he was just the hot bad boy of this book. Amazingly dreamy, amazingly dangerous. ; ] The whole storyline was super original and kept me guessing until the very end even though I had a few ideas myself. None of which were correct. =/ Haha. This was the first book in quite a while that I read without having to try hard to picture the setting. All of Bertie's surrounding where written on the page, all I had to do was read and let them create themselves on my mind. Hm, do I sound crazy? :P

Cover:
Warning: I may get started again!

I LOVE THIS COVER! I'm not quite so sure how I would have imagined Bertie without seeing the cover though because when I see the person face on the cover, I am forever picturing them like that. I love the faeries flying around her (at first I was like "What are those things? Dragonflies?) and the font really went well with the entire picture. What really made me bite down hard on the bait was the girl. She was super beautiful and her hair had my staring at the book for hours and telling all my sister's that "Look! This is the color I wanted to dye the bottom of my hair!" I got back many "Yeah, that's a nice color"s and "You should have"s. I also really like the dress she is wearing and how it makes the girl look very elegant.

Snap by Carol Snow

Publisher:HarperCollins
Published: August 25, 2009

Synopsis:

Madison Sabatini thought she knew who she was: an almost-sophomore with a bright future. The newest photographer on her school paper. A shopaholic with great hair and a fabulous wardrobe. Then, in a flash, everything changed.

Now she's stuck in Sandyland, a gloomy beach town in the middle of nowhere, living with her parents in a crappy hotel "suite." Instead of spending the summer with her friends at home, she's hanging out with pink-haired Delilah, an artist who works in a shop called Psychic Photo, and a skater boy named Duncan who's totally not her type. Except, maybe he is . . .

Determined to make the best of things, Madison throws herself into her one passion: photography. But when strange figures start appearing in her pictures—people who weren't there when she snapped the shots, people who are later reported dead—she begins to question everything about who she is . . . and who she wishes she could be.

Does this not look awesome?! Snap seems like a pretty original book, with a cool plot. Can't wait to read it. ;] I'm not sure about my feelings on the cover. What are yours?

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

Publisher: Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing
Published: May 2009
Pages: 288

Synopsis:

Some summers are just destined to be pretty.

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer -- they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Review:

Let me just say, this is the perfect book to read while relaxing on a peaceful beach on a hot summer day. Maybe I should have done that instead of reading it while laying on my living room floor on a rainy day... Well, it didn't matter that much because I still felt as if I was where Belly was, doing what Belly was doing. Let's just say that this is the perfect summer read (like Twenty Boy Summer.) Jenny Han writes about first love, family, and friendship; something everyone can (or will be able to) relate to. The Summer I Turned Pretty was a easy-flowing read that kept me entertained through out. I was laughing with Belly, Jeremiah, Steven, and Conrad, then crying with them the next. This book was just so freaking amazing.

Cover:

The cover, in my opinion, was perfect. The girl is really pretty and the guys are pretty cute. ;) The change of font in the word "pretty" was very cute. Most definitely, I was attracted to this book at first because of the cover. It fit the story perfectly.

Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves

Sixteen-year-old Hanna Järvinen is an unusual girl with a head full of hallucinations, a medicine cabinet full of pills, and a closet full of frilly, violet dresses. Everything a girl needs--except love. But that's what mothers are for, and Hanna is sure she can reconcile with hers, even though she was abandoned as a baby.

Unfortunately, her mother lives in Portero, an odd East Texas town with doors that lead out of the world, flesh-eating creatures, and parasitical spirits--not an ideal environment for winning a mother's love.

Hanna, however, refuses to let a few monsters interfere with her plans. If she has to flirt a little, lie a little, kill a little, or even bleed a little, she'll do it. Hanna can live with monsters and mayhem, but she would rather die than live without love.

I've seen this book around quite a lot, and it sounds amazing. I'm extremely excited for this one. :]

Jenny O'Conell Giveaway!

Okay, this is my July giveaway. One lucky winner will be getting one copy of:

The Book of Luke

Emily Abbott has always been considered the Girl Most Likely to Be Nice — but lately being nice hasn't done her any good. Her parents have decided to move the family from Chicago back to their hometown of Boston in the middle of Emily's senior year. Only Emily's first real boyfriend, Sean, is in Chicago, and so is her shot at class valedictorian and early admission to the Ivy League. What's a nice girl to do?

Then Sean dumps Emily on moving day and her father announces he's staying behind in Chicago "to tie up loose ends," and Emily decides that what a nice girl needs to do is to stop being nice.

She reconnects with her best friends in Boston, Josie and Lucy, only to discover that they too have been on the receiving end of some glaring Guy Don'ts. So when the girls have to come up with something to put in the senior class time capsule, they know exactly what to do. They'll create a not-so-nice reference guide for future generations of guys — an instruction book that teaches them the right way to treat girls.

But when her friends draft Emily to test out their tips on Luke Preston — the hottest, most popular guy in school, who just broke up with Josie by email — Emily soon finds that Luke is the trickiest of test subjects . . . and that even a nice girl like Emily has a few things to learn about love.

1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to r
uin the book for others!)
5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT
participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev
Here's this week's teaser, although I know that most of you have already read this:

"What sort of foul spell was that?" he demanded.
"It wasn't me!" Bertie stood with a wince, though she had more to worry about than a few bruises on her elbows and bum.

Okay, I was nervous to do this because I haven't read up to this part yet, but it's ok; I didn't read anything important.

New Moon Picture: Bella and Jacob.

Okay, so I found this picture on B.A.M. Book Reviews, thanks Briana! I must say, Taylor looks extraordinary scrumptious here, even with flat hair. And Kristen... well, she looks like she always does. I kind of agree with you Briana, she does resemble a rather depressed zombie (but also a very lucky one! Look how close she is to Taylor!!) But yeah, I really mostly posted about this because Taylor is in it, and he is worthy of posting about anytime. ;] The other reason for posting is because I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE MOVIE COMES OUT!!

Hope you can't either!

Touch by Francine Prose

Publisher: HarperCollins
Published: June 2009
Pages: 272

Synopsis:

What really happened at the back of the bus?

Did they, or didn't they?

Did she, or didn't she?

Something happened to fourteen-year-old Maisie Willard—something involving her three friends, all boys. But their stories don't match, and the rumors spin out of control. Then other people get involved . . . the school, the parents, the lawyers. The incident at the back of the bus becomes the center of Maisie's life and the talk of the school, and, horribly, it becomes news. With just a few words and a touch, the kids and their community are changed forever.

Review:

First off, let me say that I was uber excited when I got this book last week and read it in one sitting. It was really that good. Here's a little about it: Maisie, Shakes, Chris, and Kevin have been friends since birth. While most people think that a young girl having three boys as best friends is weird, to them it's the most natural thing in the world. Until, that is, the year she moves to live with her divorced mom and comes back a little...different. While Maisie's away, she blossoms. She grows boobs. And her old friends are also different; they aren't kids anymore, they're boys. Maisie hopes that things will still be the same, but soon realizes that they will never be again. But things being different is not always bad. While Maisie and Shakes have always had a special bond, feelings go farther and they end up having a secret, and brutally intense, relationship. But one day, when Maisie is betrayed, things take a horrible turn. Maisie tries to ignore it, but the secret's out and soon Maisie cannot tell the difference between the truth and what she makes herself believe happened in the back of the bus.

Touch was a fantastic novel. The writing was easy-flowing and really let me connect with Maisie. She was an extraordinary character that I felt I had a few things in common with. Not only was this book well written, but it also had an (as you can tell) incredible plot and moral behind it. It is the story of a girl who must deal with the manipulation of trauma. Now, I'm going to stop there because I know that I'll get carried away and end up telling you all about how the book ended. All in all, it was a fantastic novel that read easily and really made me connect with the main character.

Cover:

I like the feeling of this cover and how it tells the story. It definitely did draw me to the book, but I realized after I read it that it didn't completely go with the story. It made it quite obvious that Maisie would never be the type of girl to wear a skirt, especially since she "enhanced". Am I being picky? I don't know. That was my first thought when I closed the book and glanced at the cover. No matter, it still doesn't change my opinion.

Confused much?!

Is it just me, or have you guys realized that I say that I'm reading one book but when I finish that book and change the picture in my sidebar, I always post about different book?

Yeah, me too...

Weird, huh? Well, there is an explanation for that.
I always, ALWAYS, read two or more books at once and then only have time to post about one of those books. I never put more than one book as my "Currently Reading". Should I?
Maybe...

I bet you guys wouldn't be so confused I did!

-Kaitlyn

PS: Does anyone else ever have this problem?

The Book of Luke by Jenny O'Connel

Review-

Where was I when this book came out? I surely would have devoured it (kind of like I just did.) Okay, nevertheless, I loved it. The Book of Luke was definitely a romantic-comedy. Once again, I was shocked at how thick it was. (Not that it was thick, just thinker than what I expected.) What I liked the most about this book was definitely the plot. How awesome would making a guide for guys be?! I mean, come on!! That would save us all a lot of trouble. But tips to the next people to try this: Don't try it on your best friend's ex. :] But good thing this story had such an interesting plot because, once again, I felt suffocated in details. The Book of Luke had some very interesting part where I thought there was no way I would ever close the book, but then there would be parts that I felt Emily was just babbling away in her head and I had a hard time concentrating on the book. Other than that, I really found this entertaining and fun.

Cover-

Once again, the cover is what first attracted me to The Book of Luke. It just looks so relaxing and fun. It really goes well with the story (although it is winter in the book, I believe.) I really like it.

Moonlight by Rachel Hawhorne

Synopsis-

I see him and know what this turmoil inside of me means: He's the one. My forever.

Kayla is the nature lover, the all-American beauty who can't understand why she's so drawn to distant, brooding Lucas. Adopted as a young child, she has no way of knowing that she's inherited a terrifying—and thrilling—gene that will change her life forever.

Lucas is dangerous, gorgeous . . . and a werewolf. As leader of the Dark Guardians, shape-shifters who gather deep within the state park, he has sworn to protect his pack. But when Lucas finds his true soul mate, his love could put them all in harm's way.

As Lucas and Kayla struggle with their feelings for each other, a greater danger lurks: Humans have discovered the Dark Guardians and are planning their destruction. Kayla must choose between the life she knows and the love she feels certain is her destiny.

Review-

Moonlight by Rachel Hawthorne, in my view, was an okay book. While I really love Rachel Hawthorne (I've read all of her books! :D) I thought this book was slow at the beginning, then sped up drastically at the end. I felt that the book could have used a few more details. But besides the that, the book was great. It kept me entertained throughout, and I found that no matter what I've heard some of my friends say, this book was not the "same thing" as Twilight or other paranormal books that have werewolves. While I was reading Moonlight, I thought about Moonlight and only that. Twilight did not cross my mind while reading it, but I must say that it did when I first heard of the book. But so what? That's what attracted me to it in the first place. Another thing I loved about this book was the romance. While I did think that Lucas and Kayla did fall for each other a little too fast, I understood why and really felt the connection between them. All I have to say is , I'll be looking forward to reading the next book in the series :]

Cover-

I thought this cover was really pretty, but the one thing that bothered me throughout the book was that I just could not picture Kayla looking like that. Even after staring hard at the cover and picturing her in my mind, I could not do it. I somehow pictured Kayla more soft looking instead of with those high cheekbones and skinny face. Was it just me? Other than that, I really liked the cover. What I digged the most was the way they made it look light the moonlight was shining down on her. It's just really beautiful.

Review-

Firstly, let me thank me fantastic friend Cindy for this book. :]
Secondly, I really liked it. What I liked most was most likely the plot. It was pretty original, if you ask me.
Plan B also had some very funny moments. This book was very humorous and entertaining. No matter how much I enjoyed this book though, I have to admit I had a hard time getting into it when I first began reading it. I thought that some parts had too many details. Was it just me? Hmm... I don't know. The characters in this book, to me, were pretty realistic. I pictured Vanessa's boyfriend perfectly (the typical "jock"). Overall, I really enjoyed this novel, but it could have been more entertaining at the beginning.

I thought the cover to this book was
so pretty. The girl on the front has a really beautiful eye color and I like how she's hiding behind her hands like she's in shock. It kind of attracted me to this book in the first place. The one thing I didn't like about the book cover was the girl's blonde hair showing at the top right corner. It just looks really awkward considering her eyebrows are much darker, no? At first I thought that her hair was the wall behind her, but then realized it wasn't and was like, "Hmm...weird."

In My Mailbox 7/5

Okay, so this week I am unable to make a video. =/ But that's fine. I'll just do it the "normal" way. :]

Bought:
Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers

Perfect Parker Fadley isn’t so perfect anymore. She’s quit the cheerleading squad, she’s dumped her perfect boyfriend, and she’s failing school. She's making a nice guy fall in love with her. Her parents are on a constant suicide watch and her counselors think she’s playing games…but what they don’t know, the real reason for this whole mess, isn’t something she can say out loud. It isn’t even something she can say to herself. A horrible thing has happened and it just might be her fault. If she can just remove herself from everybody--be totally alone--then everything will be okay...The problem is, nobody will let her.

I already read this book and thought it was AMAZING. Here's the review.

In Your Room by Jordanna Fraiberg

Molly and Charlie have fallen head over heels in love—even though they've never met Molly is a fashion-conscious city girl in L.A. Charlie is an earthy, mountain-biking dude from Boulder, Colorado. Each of them has big plans with their respective friends for the summer—until they discover that their parents decided to swap houses!

Luckily there's no amount of homesickness that a bit of snooping can't cure. Charlie and Molly begin crawling under beds and poking around in closets to find out a little more about each other—and they like what they find.

Can Charlie and Molly's long-distance romance survive jealousy, misunderstandings—and the thousand miles between them?

I read this book already, also. Can't really see what all the hype is over it. Nothing special to me.

Evernight by Claudia Gray

Bianca wants to escape.

She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.

"I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would."

But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed.

This looks really interesting. I am probably the only person in the world who hasn't read this yet. Maybe the cover had thrown me off.

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go -- especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil -- and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is

Valentine behind the killings -- and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Swo

rd, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

I really enjoyed City of Bones! Hopefully this is just as good (or better!!)!!

The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti

Jade DeLuna is too young to die. She knows this, and yet she can't quite believe it, especially when the terrifying thoughts, loss of breath, and dizzy feelings come. Since being diagnosed with Panic Disorder, she's trying her best to stay calm, and visiting the elephants at the nearby zoo seems to help. That's why Jade keeps the live zoo webcam on in her room, and that's where she first sees the boy in the red jacket. A boy who stops to watch the elephants. A boy carrying a baby.

His name is Sebastian, and he is raising his son alone. Jade is dr

awn into Sebastian's cozy life with his son and his activist grandmother on their Seattle houseboat, and before she knows it, she's in love. With this boy who has lived through harder times than anyone she knows. This boy with a past.

Jade knows the situation is beyond complicated, but she hasn't felt this safe in a long time. She owes it all to Sebastian, her boy with the great heart. Her boy who is hiding a terrible secret. A secret that will force Jade to decide between what is right, and what feels right.

This looks amazing. Once again, probably the last person to read this...

Tan Lines by J.J. Salem

Liza is beautiful, fearless, and slays rival media commentators with her firebrand feminist spin. So why is it that this summer, in the Hamptons, Liza is falling into all the old traps and clichés that she cautions other women to avoid?

Kellyanne hoped that this summer would be different. Waiting tables and playing mistress to a rich developer helps her to stay afloat before her big break as an actress. But why are the phenomenal looks that were supposed to take her all the way leading her to the edge of disaster?

Billie rocks the indie music scene with an appetite for self-destruction. Sex is candy, drugs are fuel, and even her closest friends are disposable. So how is she supposed to find real success when she’s only looking out for number one?

Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
by Deb Caletti

Ruby McQueen is tired of being The Quiet Girl at high school. Maybe that's what prompts her to get on the back of Travis Becker's motorcycle. Thing is, once she's on the back of the bike it's pretty difficult to stop.

But Ruby's family isn't prepared to let her ride off into the sunset (not with Travis, anyway) and so she finds herself on a rode trip to California with her mom, little bro ther, and a bunch of old people who call themselves the Casserole Queens. It's going to be a
looooong ride.

This book looks really good! Can't wait to read it.

Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers

Synopsis-

Review-

Just by reading the first paragraph, I was hooked. Cracked Up to Be is an emotional and important book. Throughout the book, you can literally see the main character, Parker, fight her memories. I thought this book was amazing. Summer's writing had me on edge during every turn of every page. I never wanted this novel to end. Cracked Up to Be may be a dark tale, but also had me laughing out loud at some times. I loved it.

I thought the cover was really pretty, but it didn't really say much about the book. But no matter, it was still awesome.

Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Synopsis-
High atop Hathorne Hill, near Boston, sits Danvers State Hospital. Built in 1878 and closed in 1992, this abandoned mental institution is rumored to be the birthplace of the lobotomy. On the eve of the hospital's demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about their experiences. For Derik, it's an opportunity to win a filmmaking contest and save himself from a future of flipping burgers at his parents' diner. For the others, it's a chance to be on TV, or a night with no parents. But what starts as a dare quickly escalates into a nightmare. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room, they will unravel the mysteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might.

Review-

Boy, did this book give me the creeps. I would definitely not have been able to do what these six teenagers did. I am a huge believer in the paranormal and would have bailed this break-in before I was ever offered the part. I loved the way the story was told in changing point of views and got the chance to feel what everyone was feeling. While this is definitely a mystery book, it also has romance and deals with family issues. This book even had me laughing out loud at times. Project 17 was a pretty easy read (read it in one day,) but was indeed a excellent book. I recommend this book to mystery and drama lovers.

The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams (+ something special!)

CONTEST CLOSED.
Thanks to all who entered.

Synopsis-

Thirteen-year-old Kyra has grown up in an isolated polygamous community without questioning her father’s three wives and her twenty brothers and sisters. Or at least without questioning them much—if you don’t count her secret visits to the Mobile Library on Wheels to read forbidden books, or her meetings with the boy she hopes to choose for herself instead of having a man chosen for her. But when the Prophet decrees that Kyra must marry her 60-year-old uncle—who already has six wives—Kyra must make a desperate choice in the face of violence and her own fears of losing her family.

Review-
Oh my, did this book have me emotional. I was either smiling with Kyra or crying with Kyra. This book was amazing. The Chosen One really opened my eyes to polygamy and how people really live like this. Young girls everyday are getting married to men 3 or 4 times their age. This book is truly amazing. I couldn't put it down for hours, only then for the necessities like "eating" and "sleeping". Carol Lynch Williams' writing really makes one think. It was a very outstanding read and I definitely, without a doubt recommend The Chosen One, for teens or adults. I believe that everyone can enjoy this book.

Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar

Synopsis-
Scott Hudson is a lowly freshman trying to survive high school. His older brother was a popular troublemaker who is kinda a loser now that he's out of high school. Scott's friends are leaving him--moving, joining the wrestling team, and just drifting apart. Scott is constantly trying to get closer to Julia, the beautiful classmate who might be out of his league. But the freaky pierced girl is getting a lot of his attention, too, even though Scott is embarrassed to be seen with her. And, um, Scott's mom is pregnant. So the story is told in a journal (not a diary, he tells us) to his future sibling. Let's just say he isn't too thrilled with sharing his home with a whiny little kid! Scott is a smart, funny kid, even though he is exhausted from him freshman year.

Review-
While I did read this book two years too late, I truly did enjoy it. It was a great laugh and Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie seems to be on everyone's fave list.
I must say, I really did enjoy this book. But, was it just me, or were there a little bit to many details? It was probably just me. This book had a great plot and was totally hilarious. I would sometimes find myself laughing out loud while reading in between finals and sitting alone in my living room. :D
I also believe that I learned a few very good vocabulary words that I definitely plan on using in the future. They were just too great!
Overall, this book was pretty great! I totally recommend it!

"I'd like a hot dog," Tom said frankly.

Haha, this book is hilarious so far! I love it!

Paper Towns by John Green

Summary-
Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life - dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge - he follows.

After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues - and they're for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew.

Printz medalist John Green returns with the brilliant wit and searing emotional honesty that have inspired a new generation of listeners.

Review-
Yeah, I know. I'm probably the last person in the
world to read this!!! And boy, am I an idiot for waiting this long. This book was extremely good in every single possible way. Paper Towns was written SO freakin' beautifully. It's entertaining, funny, and, most of all, it's real.

Now Kaitlyn, what do you mean "real"?

Well, Kaitlyn, by "real" I mean that it relates to
real people and real feelings. The characters talk like real people, act like real people, and think like real people. The characters really were their own people; they had their own personalities and after I closed the book, I had a hard time remembering that the weren't real, real. Just real.

Too confusing?

Read the book (although I'm pretty sure you already have) and hopefully you get what I mean. Okay, two more things: 1. I am SO freakin' upset that I read this book on the week of finals (which I am almost done with!! :D) and couldn't read it straight through, which I always do for books that I am enjoying. But it's okay! The greatness of the book made up for it. :] 2. I LOVE THIS COVER. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT,. I. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. IT. I would have definitely pictured Margo just like that. Oh, another thing! HOW AWESOME IS THE NAME "MARGO ROTH SPIEGELMAN"? I am surely naming my kid that.

What do you think about this name?
How about the book?
I wanna hear your thoughts and comments here!
